Brett Berkley senior vice president
Mr. Berkley was in the public sector for many years with the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife and the New York City Parks Department Natural Resources Group. During that time his areas of responsibility were rare species ecology and protection, regulatory compliance, site assessment and wetland restoration design and implementation.
He also possesses over 15-years of experience in land use and environmental consulting. Over the last four years Mr. Berkley directed the ecological division of Matrix Environmental, a NJ based engineering consulting firm and handled Federal, State and Municipal permit and land use initiatives in NJ, CT, MD, MA, PA, NY and FL. Mr. Berkley launched and directed the Land Development Division for Matrix focused in the areas of land development feasibility assessment, regulatory compliance and approvals, water quality, wildlife surveys/habitat assessment, wetland delineation, wetland restoration design and construction. Mr. Berkley designed and implemented hundreds of acres of wetland/habitat restoration including several large scale ecological restorations in NYC. He possesses direct project experience across the eastern seaboard and has the distinction of being accredited as a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS).
Mr. Berkley possesses direct experience in urban redevelopment, brownfield re-development, horizontal development program management and therefore fully appreciates the transactional side of complicated real estate initiatives. Brett secured his M.S. in Wetland Sciences at the University of Massachusetts and his B.A. in Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Ecology at Boston University in 1991. He is based in the New Jersey office of GreenVest.
