EXPERIENCE – Brett Berkley possesses 28+ years of experience in ecosystem restoration design and implementation; stormwater management and water quality; compensatory mitigation and mitigation banking; sustainable land use; green infrastructure, nature based solutions and ecosystem resiliency; program formulation, management and implementation. Brett is Senior Vice President of GreenVest, responsible for the identification, design, approval, and implementation, of the firm’s ecosystem restoration projects. Brett leads the company’s program management and business development efforts. He also leads GreenVest’s highly specialized in-house ecological and sustainable land use advisory group.
Prior to joining GreenVest, Brett held positions with the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program, the New York City Parks Department, Natural Resources Group and various private consulting firms. He also held positions with prominent, regional AE consulting firms extending his project-based experience across the Eastern Seaboard. Brett has successfully programed and fully delivered more than 65 restoration and mitigation projects and over 10 mitigation banks throughout the region. Much of his project experience continues to focus on generating ecosystem and community resiliency including within challenging and complex urban environments.
