| We are excited to share that Dana Cooper has joined our organization as General Counsel. Dana earned her BA in Geography and International Affairs at George Washington University in 2006 and was awarded her Juris Doctorate at Georgetown University in 2009. While at Georgetown Dana served as a law clerk within the Department of Justice Environment & Natural Resource Division. That position set the tone for advancing her interest in the environmental arena and for the last ten years she has specialized in environmental law and regulatory policy work. Most notably she has honed her contract and regulatory skills as inhouse counsel to the Baltimore City Department of Public Works, a position she filled for well over 7 years. Her responsibilities in guiding that Department in legal and environmental regulatory guidance matters set the stage for enhancing the need to address the growing array of related issues on behalf of GreenVest and GreenVest’s clients. Dana also serves as Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Environmental & Energy Law Section. This allows her to interface with the entire Maryland legal community and network to address and solve environmental and regulatory issues statewide which provides additional depth and experience to her position at GreenVest. Dana is joining at a pivotal time for both GreenVest and the work we advance throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, particularly as we all face the challenges of making sure we advance a healthy environment. When asked why she chose GreenVest, Dana responded “I am, by nature, a problem-solver and figuring out the interaction between environmental protection and fiscal responsibility has been a “problem” I’ve been passionate about solving both through my public service and subsequent private legal and consulting practice. I am very excited to join GreenVest’s remarkable team of professionals who work every day to leave a cleaner, better world for future generations.” We look forward to Dana’s leadership in heading our legal team as we set our sights on advancing the GreenVest strategic plan for 2020 and beyond.
