One of 4 related projects for the MDOT SHA – Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration, the Muddy Creek (River Valley Ranch) Stream Restoration Project at Gunpowder Falls was designed, approved, and constructed to assist MDOT SHA with their commitment to meet requirements of the Chesapeake Bay TMDL through compliance with the requirements established in Maryland’s WIP. The MCRP includes the restoration of 7,972 linear feet of stream and associated riparian buffer which will be perpetually preserved within a 13.01-acre easement. The Muddy Creek Project Site is located on private property in Carroll County, Maryland. Construction of the Project included grading, installation of in-stream structures, select stream reach realignment, and the installation of native plants throughout the easement area.
