Community Resource Page – Fort Washington

The Fort Washington Flood Risk Mitigation and Stormwater Management Project is being implemented by Prince George’s County Department of Environment and GV-Petro Joint Venture, LLC (a partnership between GreenVest and Petro Design Build Group). The Project aims to provide sediment and nutrient reduction to the County and address nuisance flooding and erosion that has negatively affected residents of the Tantallon community.

The Project will retrofit or create ±8 stormwater management facilities and stabilize ±4,174 linear feet of stream with the goal to reduce pollutants and address the causes of frequent flooding and increase community resiliency to storm events.

The Project will be implemented in three discrete stages to limit disturbances to the Tantallon community and golf course operations. The Project is currently undergoing design and permitting, with construction commencement expected in Fall 2025. An anticipated project timeline can be found below and will be updated by the Project Team to reflect any changes as the Project advances.
