Wednesday, March 22, is World Water Day, created to bring focus to the water and sanitation crisis that affects many people across the globe. Today’s recognition is an important reminder that what impacts the water supply in one place impacts the health of us all.

At GreenVest, we’re proud that our water quality improvement, stormwater management, and resiliency projects utilize nature-based solutions. These nature-based solutions often include the conservation and restoration of wetlands, streams, and other natural water systems to enhance the natural ecosystem services these landscape features provide. These environments not only clean the planet’s water, but also provide habitats for animalsinsects, and plants, and help control and protect against erosion, flooding, and storm damage.

There are many ways you, too, can make a difference. Check out UN-Water’s Be The Change site to learn more about efforts across the globe and to develop your own action plan. Happy World Water Day!
